I’m going to use lots of photos on this post mainly because I don’t really have enough words to describe how great the IN! Magazine Glamour Awards night was. I do want to thank all of you who voted to get me there in the first place and then commented, liked, texted, tweeted etc etc on Saturday evening…and there were hundreds of you – I felt your support all night long!
So first up, some photos from home just before I left the house. I must say a very big thank you to my friends Jill and Kate who contacted me when I put up a Facebook message looking for something to wear over the dress. Kate offered me her Granny’s fur cape which was stunning but in the end, I opted for Jill’s fur jacket from Next as it was very cold and rainy on Saturday and I needed something more substantial.
and then a much better quality photo now from the red carpet, taken by my friend Stephen Potter. I attended the event with Nic from Strawberry Blonde Beauty as her blog was nominated also – stunning in her M&Co Flapper Dress. Read Nic’s report from the night on this link!
City Hall looked amazing on the night with the whole Gatsby/Hollywood theme:
and we were treated to a delicious menu from Zen Belfast…
It was an honour to have Janet Devlin at our table with her brother – her first album is released in June for those of you wondering what she’s been up to since her appearance on the X-Factor. Such a mature, elegant and grounded girl – it was hard to believe she’s only 19.
Also at the table were fellow bloggers, Lisa from Life of Lala and Louise Vance from The Real Elle Woods. After much talking, a few cocktails and lots and lots of selfies (I won’t republish them – they’re on Twitter already!), everyone moved to upstairs at Zen for the official after party and if it wasn’t for the very sensible and kind Gemma Louise who was in Belfast at another night out and offered to bring me home. I may very well have stayed past 2am!
A fabulous night all round. Almost forgot to mention that I sadly didn’t win in my category but it didn’t matter because it was such a fantastic experience. Well done to NI Gossip Guy (Neil, pictured below) who took the Online Personality Award home with him – he’s a great ambassador for local goings on so it was only fitting that he scoop the award.
Highlights from the night -
The Dress – so comfy, no wardrobe malfunctions, didn’t crease, didn’t require industrial or highly complex underwear…just the MOST amazing dress you could ever hope to wear to an event. Thank you Gray & Osbourn!
The Shoes – did not rub or blister my feet, were safe and secure going up and down the City Hall marble staircases, and were sturdy enough to deal with the 15 min walk through Belfast to the after party..will be worn LOTS in the future.
The Face & Hair – didn’t budge …. all night! Read all about them on yesterday’s post.
Proof of all the above – here I am at about 12.30am…6 hours after arriving..
Ok – I have about 50 more photos but really, you don’t need to see them all. There are some more on Twitter and Instagram and others that will just live in my phone and cheer me up from time to time! I’ll finish with a big thank you to the team at IN! Magazine, Zen Restaurant and Belfast City Hall for throwing the best party.
Normal School Gate Style service will resume tomorrow with a bit of an outfit round up since I last posted a daytime outfit and I’ve not forgotten the handbag competition either…I’ll be back soon!
