I wasn’t able to host a Boden party this season but my friend Vicki was so I was over there as quick as you could say ‘Rainy Day Mac’!
I tried on as much as I could in my size and spotted some gorgeous bits and pieces. For me, the shoes and handbags were most impressive. Boden just do these so well…and many of them were 30% off and available to bring home on the day. If you ever get to a party late in the season, you’ll often have the opportunity like this to buy off the rail!
First up – the gold Boho Ankle Boot...a great transitional shoe…
I also loved this silver Penny Loafer. It was so comfortable and not as mannish as some other loafers I’ve tried on recently.
Next up, the Fashion Pointed Pump and I have to say, I was closest to buying these but had to remind myself that I’d just bought three pairs of Johnnie B shoes!!
Handbags next and the Mya Bag did not disappoint…stunning in the leopard print, great as a cross body and a good size for busy mums. It’s in the sale at the moment for only £59.
The Palermo Tote was a stunner – how amazing would it look with a breton top and some jeans. LOVE
Now for the tops I got to try on – first up, the Modern Stripy Top – which is unfortunately sold out in this colour way. I tried on the 10 but would have needed the 12 really for comfort across my shoulders.
The pattern on this Printed Pocket Top is great – lovely with denim. A bit neat again for me in the 10 so I’d order a 12.
A couple of jumpers next – firstly the Brigitte Jumper. Gorgeous spring colours – would be great over a denim shirt with some chinos
And this metallic Darcy Jumper – it is a great neutral knit. Was very tempted!
Almost there – just a couple of jackets and then the Boden Boyfriend Jeans, which I was really keen to try out! First jacket is the Blenheim Blazer in Navy – really lovely fit
and the Cotton Biker Jacket delivers once again this year in stylish navy
Finishing with the Boden Boyfriend jeans which I was VERY impressed by. They are a great high waisted fit and super comfy. I tried on the 10 and it was a perfect fit so they probably come up a little bigger than Boden’s usual 10 in jeans. The best bit is that they are a lovely length – so many boyfriend jeans come up a bit short even on me. They also come in a long leg AND in petite. Sorry for the trainer sock photo. My other photos didn’t come out right. My verdict? Full marks for fit but I found myself wanting more distressing on them. What’s become of me? Never thought I’d actively seek out torn jeans!
In the end, I didn’t get anything for myself at the party but I do have a wishlist. I need to pay for my choir USA trip in the next week so the spending is postponed until after that. Hopefully you’ve found the try on helpful though – I always find it more useful seeing things on a real person, rather than a model.
Hope you’ve had a good Friday my friends…I’m off to swimming classes now with the kids. Roll on wine o’clock!

I love the pink shoes – my goodness me they are gorgeous! The blue ones too. I LOVE Boden but my wallet doesn’t love their prices – even with 30% off!
Some of those tops look great on you!
Fiona
I tried on those pink shoes – they were lovely! Ax
Some great choices Avril, I’ve just brought the Mya in the sale….love it so much I’m wearing it today!
Have a great weekend.
Jane xx
My Midlife Fashion
Thanks Jane – good choice on the Mya bag – I’m off to check out your blog now! Ax
Interesting that the blue fashion point pumps were 30% off last chance to buy yet they’ve been OOS online in every size almost since the collection launched. They could have sold them full price online! I really like them but soon came to terms with the fact I’d be unlikely to get hold of them in my size. Of course, I haven’t looked for a few weeks, maybe they are in stock now.
Yes, anything that’s sold out online always gets the Last Chance badge at the last few parties. I guess the items are not suitable to sell by the time they’ve been around the country at 20 or so parties? They do get bashed about a lot and tried on lots too! Hope you’re keeping well Lou – you’re looking amazing and still super stylish with your bump. Ax
Some lovely things here Avril. Those jeans look great on you, shame they’re not more distressed. Love love love the navy blazer. Donna xx
Thanks Donna – I’m LOVING the jeans you had on the blog this week too – really gorgeous on you! Ax
Avril, these are fab! Thank you for the look-see. Guess I am glad I waited to get the Boden Weekly Review Roundup written till today. Fate smiled on me…
Love the new blog look, glad all your hard work paid off…
Thank you Dina and thanks for the mention on your Round Up this evening. I’m so glad my timing was perfect. Ax
Oh that stripey top & the boyfriend jeans look lovely, as does the navy blazer with cream trim. I’m actually looking for undistressed boyfs as my son stuck his fist through the knee of mine leaving them overdistressed!
Nic x
Well, that’s a good point Nic – if you keep the un-distressed ones for long enough, the kids will distress them for you! Maybe see you at Replay tomorrow morning…hoping they have nice BF’s! Ax
I love the boyfriend jeans – I’m in the market for a new pair and love that these come in petite size too. I’ll have to see how funds are at the end of the month
Definitely worth considering and it is great that there are length options on them. And I feel your pain…it’s felt like a VERY long month xx
Seeing the Mya bag up close makes it so much more tempting!! It’s gorgeous!! I think the cotton biker jacket looks amazing on you and I love the metallic loafers!! xx
Oh it’s FABULOUS….feels so lush and yes, the biker jacket is great. Was v tricky to photograph but looked amazing and I would wear it so much! Ax
Love the Blenheim blazer and those blue pointed pumps…. Just divine on you Avril. I don’t care how many pairs of Johnnie B shoes you have just bought:you have to get them!! Xx
I love your thinking…I’m really regretting not getting them but I have to tell myself I don’t have that much blue in my wardrobe……
……no…not working…I still want them! Ax
Fab range of clothes it makes such a difference to see them actually on, I love that stripey top and the blazer, so preppy. I have just got my Johnnie B delivery of Bretons but I think I may be adding the navy blazer to it! X
Thanks Frances – I wanted to try on the JB range but it was all too small at the party…they must have worked out us mammies are buying the big sizes! Ax
I love the silvers loafers and the black & blue pointers.- both look super. Also like the pink hooped top and the metallic top – that has such a lovely neck feature on it.

I have always been curious about boden fit. It isn’t a brand that you see alot of here in Canada, the shipping and exchange rate is a bit prohibitive. Still I find so many fun things and have found adorable things for my kiddos on sale.
LOVE those two tone pointy toe loafers you tried on!
Love the silver loafers……and the trainer socks lol!
Love the styling on the Boden silver loafers. They are my perfect shaped loafer – some can be too shallow and make me look like I have stumpy feet but I can see how the shape is a little more elongated on these and more elegant. Nice!
And get you – you want more distressing on your jeans girl ?1???!!! Never thought I’d see the day!
Super post! Am hugely impressed that you weren’t tempted to buy anything. Absolutely LOVE the blazer on you. I have to admit I’m a bit blazer obsessed at the moment. And in case I haven’t mentioned before, I’m loving this new layout … very slick!
Love the Blenheim navy blazer (and new blog format;)
