It struck me last week when I wore my old favourite tan wedge sandals from Clarks, how useful they are - they get wheeled out every summer and worn all the time. I get endless compliments when I wear them and sad faces when I tell people that they're 3 years old and no longer in stock. They're such a wardrobe staple - comfy, match everything and look so timeless so here's my pick of the best strappy tan sandals on the high street at the moment.
Starting with the closest I can find to my Clarks ones, from Dune...in the sale and with only size 7/40 left so don't delay if you like them! They even have the back zip like mine!
Dune Gerad
and a wedge which gets glowing reviews though seems to come up small so size up.
Dune Grainne
Moving onto Clarks themselves...
Ranae Estelle
Oriana Bess
Onto Next and these look super comfy - part of the Premium Leather range
Next Gladiator Wedge
Slightly more of a mule style from Tesco - real leather though!
Cross Over Tan Sandals
Fly London have some similar wedges - a bit chunkier looking but super comfy. I've had Fly sandals in the past and they are great to wear. A good option for sore back sufferers who need the extra shock absorption of a rubbery heel, without the frumptastic styling!
Fly London Ygor Wedge
Fly London Yown Wedge
Finally, good old M&S...more along the clog lines which I love the look of but find tricky to walk in...
Leather Clog Sandals
And I must pop these beauties in - they do not fit the criteria at all but I need them in my life!! A lace up style I think I might be able to pull off?
Topshop Fig Sandals
Finishing with Sunday's outfit...
Cream Jessica Top - Hush
Skinny Jeans - M&S (old)
Grey Orb Pendant - School Gate Style Shop
Hamble Oak Brogues - Clarks (past season - link to current season version)
and what I wore over this for a day at the Garden Show Ireland at Antrim Castle Gardens
Parka - TargetDry
Boots - Sorel
Harlequin Scarf - SGS Shop (low stock)
Cross Body Bag - Gap
I hope your Monday was a good one - back soon with another whizz around the shops feature....
Ax
I threw away a pair of tan wedges last winter that had seen me through four or five years and they'd seen better days. Not replaced them as yet but some good options here. I'll have to start looking soon before all the autumn stuff hits the shops ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people who stare enviously at those Clark sandals each year & kick myself for not buying a pair! Great selection that you've picked - actually this years Clarks selection are not bad at all ... albeit a pale imitation of yours!!
ReplyDeleteI'm one of those people who stare enviously and then do mad Ebay searching for them. No luck as yet :(
ReplyDeleteSome of these look so comfy, am off to investigate on Thursday when both boys are in nursery. Thank you x

I just love tan strappies! I have a new look pair that I bought about 5 years ago still going strong. They are such a classic wardrobe item x
ReplyDeleteI've been on a block heeled tan sandals mission for what feels like forever! I looked at the Tesco ones but they just look too heavy with such thick straps! I've finally settled on a pair from Dotty Ps which are winging themselves to me as I type! They aren't leather sadly but I think they'll do for now! Great picks Avril! x
ReplyDeleteI've long been an admirer of your sandals, Avril. They're gorgeous! I need some tan heels so I'm off to investigate. Lynne xx
