NYC - What I Wore!

Thanks for all the lovely comments from my last post - thrilled you enjoyed listening to the choir performances....I'm still pinching myself about actually being part of it all!

But I know that you've been wondering what I wore and what I bought...so here goes with the outfits - the shopping will follow shortly.
My clothes options were a bit limited...I had to wear either choir uniform or choir t-shirt on all but 2 occasions. But I got great wear out of the black items I showed you on the capsule wardrobe post.

For travelling over, it was comfort all the way - here I am at the bus stop at 5.15am

Harem Pants - ℅ Hush
Trainers - H&M (current season - not online)
Denim Jacket - Vero Moda
Scarf - old from eBay
Large Leather Handbag - M&S Sale (similar here & here)

On the first evening, I changed out of my choir t-shirt and into my H&M coral pink top. It was a cool evening so I layered over my charity shop bargain Dorothy Perkins jacket and a scarf. But Thursday was glorious so I was able to go without a jacket to Central Park for the open air performance. It was lovely to meet Bernie 'my kind of cousin' (it's complicated!), who lives in New York, who came along to cheer us on.

Bernie, her friend Kate and I had a lovely lunch catch up before the next singing engagement at the New York New Belfast conference (at the invitation of the Belfast Lord Mayor). I wore my Wallis jumpsuit to this. I must thank Nicki from Salt & Sparkle blog for taking the photos here - another multi talented choir member.

Next day, we had two gigs - singing at the New York, New Belfast conference once again in yet another black ensemble:

Maxi Skirt- ℅ Hot Squash
Vest - Zara
Sandals - TK Maxx (current season not online - similar here & here)

..followed by a gig at Rutgers University in New Jersey where I wore the Wallis Jumpsuit once more. In fact, I have to confess that I didn't wear my Matalan one at all! But I've not abandoned it completely..it was just that the Wallis one is a bit more substantial and dressier so it seemed more appropriate for these gigs.
On Saturday - I wore the maxi skirt again and another Zara vest...with a scarf as it was a bit chilly in the morning. Loved this photo Gemma Louise took of me in front of our local police station while we went on a very brief but productive trip to the local TJ Maxx!

Sunday was super hot so I wore my Hot Squash cool fabric maxi dress. It's quite low cut front and back so I layered a M&S vest underneath and added the Floral Statement necklace from my shop. Thanks to Gemma again for these photos.

We had 3 gigs on Sunday so during an afternoon break, I had my hair blow-dried (birthday present from Gemma-Louise!) and changed into my Boden maxi dress for our last gig at Connolly's Pub. It was so lovely to meet my cousin Patrick there (who also lives in NYC) AND what a surprise when Joanna from Poppy's Style sauntered in mid-performance with her friend Cali...I wasn't supposed to see them until Monday so it was great to have a quick catch up and a photo.

Finally, Monday, our last day...and my birthday! So I wore a new top I picked up in Urban Outfitters the day before...can you tell I had had enough of black?!

dRA Rosie Peasant Top - Urban Outfitters USA (not showing on the UK site)
Shoes & Bag - NYC Purchases!
What made my day even more special was a lunch with Joanna, Cali & Gemma Louise at Balthazar - the Beckham's restaurant of choice in Soho...no less! It was a fantastic way to celebrate...complete with cocktails and birthday ice-cream!

It's been amazing remembering back on the past week - feeling a little bit sad that it's all over now though :(
I'm off now to edit the shopping photos - so excited to share the giveaway prize I got from Michael Kors!! Back really soon, I promise.
