What I Wore - The Warehouse SS13 Launch

Last week saw the press launch of the Warehouse SS13 range in the Warehouse store in Forestside, Belfast. I'm a huge fan of Warehouse. They have upped their game so much in recent years and I love that they are creating on-trend lines that are cut to suit women who have left their 20's behind them.
First up - loving the blush & beige tones coming through...so flattering to wear and Warehouse have them in silk, jersey, leather and in knitwear. Some great jumpers with silky fronts and fine knitted sleeves and backs. Perfect for the school run.
Lots of monochrome and stripes going on too. Loved all three of these pieces. The dress has a gorgeous keyhole detail on the back, the jumper has a zip right down the back and the coat has a really on-trend shape going on - a great alternative to a biker or blazer style short jacket.
The accessories were impressive as always. Warehouse do amazing scarves (I've given this butterfly one away one on this blog in the past!) and the silver clutch was incredible. Such great quality but really well priced at £26.
With wedding season approaching, I took a shine to this dress which was being modelled on a mannequin as well as on one of the team in the store
It's a good length for taller girls - the girl wearing it here was about my height but was wearing heels.
I also spotted this Chanel-esque boucle jacket with a gorgeous black leather effect trim. Another bargain at £46. A versatile spring jacket, perfect with jeans and a white t-shirt.

The changing rooms were so busy but when it finally calmed down a bit, I decided to jump on the boyfriend jeans bandwagon and try on these slim fit, darker wash ones that I'd been eying up online. Also tried on this lovely blush coloured frilled sleeve top. Very flattering on (got a bit de-constructed on the collage creator..it's been a long day)

I'm not sold on the ripped effect but love the shape. Great price again and a lovely fit (I'm wearing the 10-they do come up a bit big)
Undecided on the jeans, I came away with the butterfly scarf which I've coveted since I gave one away last year. There was 25% discount on the night so it would have been rude not to.
The whole range is available now online and in stores.
Oh and what did I wear? Well the changing room picture is a bit of a giveaway...
Boucle Biker Style Jacket - River Island
Black Skinny Jeans - Primark
Black Wedge Ankle Boots - Zara (last seen here)
Black draped top - Benetton
White Vest - Primark
Necklace - Freedon @ Topshop
Black Scarf (over arm) - Benetton

Till next time....x

  1. Love the outfit you wore - really chic. Warehouse isn't a shop I go into much, but your selection has persuaded me to address this oversight. As for the jeans?? Well, they are to me as wedge trainers are to you, lol :)

    1. I should qualify that statement about the jeans! The fit is gorgeous and they look great ... it's the rips that I don't like!

  3. Love the maxi dress. My daughter has a wedding in the summer, I shall bear this one in mind for her when we go shopping. I really like warehouse and their online sales are always good xx

  4. I'm not a big Warehouse fan but I popped in a couple of weeks for the first time in a couple of years and saw a few nice things there - nice enough for me to pop in to a changing room to try them on. But I didn't buy.

The boyfriend jeans suit you but not the rips. They look a similar fit to my Gap boyfriend ones (mine are dark with no rips believe it or not) and I think you would probably be quite happy in that finish. Pop on a pair of ballet pumps and you're good to go.

And I have to say, I like your own outfit the best.

  6. HI Avril,
Gorgeous selection of clothes you have found in Warehouse! I have a house of fraser voucher burning a hole in my pocket so I think I might pop in for a Spring buy! Lovely outfit as always. You put me to shame, I think I am on day 3 of the same jumper and jeans this end....I especially like your river island jacket. I remember liking it when you first posted a pic of it. I have spied one on ebay and wondered how you found the size? I haven't bought anything from River Island in a long time, but if I was buying a jacket from Warehouse or Next I would be a size 14. did you buy your usual size?
    Many thanks,

    Kitty x

    1. Hi Kitty! Thanks for your lovely comment. I regularly wear the same thing for a couple of days at a time - that's why I don't post every day on here! Nothing wrong with that at all!
Regarding the RI jacket, mine's actually a 14 as it was the last one left in the sale. So it is a bit big on me but only noticeable when I zip it up. I would say had I had the choice of sizes, I would have bought the 12 but as it's not a jacket that you'd necessarily close up, it would depend on the length of your arms and how broad your shoulders are. It's quite short also so I think the 10 would have been neat overall on me. I'm getting a bit more length in it with the 14. It's got stretchy panels on the side and in the arms. So that was a long way round to saying that a 14 or a 16 would probably both fit you and you'd not notice much between them, unless you have v short arms or a tiny bust. Helpful?! Not sure...lol! Avril xx

    2. Thank you so much for that. I you were to buy a jacket from say Warehouse or Next for example, would you normally buy a 12?

    3. If it was Next, I'd be a 10 but I'd be a Warehouse 12 in a wee jacket like that. I find the fits really different in different shops. River Island comes up small too. I'm broad across my back so a 12 is mostly more comfortable, especially as I like to wear my layers underneath, Avx

  10. I love the jeans. I went through a phase when I wouldn't wear ripped denim EVER, but after I bought a pair of Genetic boyfriends, I changed my mind. I think those look great on you!
