My Boden Party Purchases

This week I was delighted to be asked along to attend one of the first Boden parties in Northern Ireland. It was a snowy day but well worth sliding all the way to Bangor to get to. Here is the sight I was greeted with...child in a sweetie shop stuff!

You certainly need a lot of space for these parties. Vicki, the hostess had a Boden packed kitchen, sun-room & dining area. Here were some items from the womenswear rails that impressed me more in real life than they had done in the brochure:
Photographer's Jacket - on special offer on the day!
Sixties Shell Top
Ravello Top
Skater Dress - much nicer in RL!
Oversized Linen Tee
Floral Scarf
Stripy Breton
I was a bit tight for time so couldn't try anything on but I did order the photographer's jacket in the dusky pink and a couple of tops - all of which arrived today.
Loving the photographer's jacket - it's got a nice stretch in it and the colour is great so it's a keeper. Not for wearing right now but it'll be great in a month or so when the weather improves. Difficult to photograph indoors but it's a pink/beige colour. I bought the size 10:
Next up - some breton tops - the Oversized Linen Tee...not so keen on the ivory/navy mix. I think it's the navy neckline I don't like in it.
Also I ordered it in a 10 which seemed a bit neat on me - despite the oversized fit.
Much prefer the navy/ivory colourway, which my friend ordered.
This is me wearing the size 12, a much better fit
I also ordered this jersey wrap top in duck egg in a size 10 but surprisingly for Boden, it's tiny...definitely more like an 8

I could only get away with this if I wore industrial undies all day so it's a reluctant return as I think the 12 would be too large for me across the bust. I did love the quality of it though and it's only £35.
So what about the whole party concept? I loved it. Boden has some amazing stock that can seem quite expensive online but when you see the stock in real life, it helps you appreciate the quality and detail in each item. Also, at a party, there are always offers that are just for that party so I got two different discounts applied to my order, making it all very affordable. And there was a free scarf with every order.
The good news for those of you living in Northern Ireland is that I'm going to be hosting my own Boden Party! Now I'm not sure of the date yet but you'll be the first to know, I promise and you're all invited!
Hope you're having a great weekend, Avril x

    2. The parties I went to Avril were for Greenhouse...I think the brand Friendtex has now taken over. You can find the info online and might come across a party near your home. I always got some lovely bits:)

  4. I've never bought anything from Boden, in fact I've only ever been on the website to look at the foldover clutch as seen on poppysstyle. It's on my wish list now, must take another wee nosey as I hear they are good for basics like Breton tops.

  12. Avril, you had twins and your tummy is that flat??! It's just not fair! I wish there's a Boden party in my neck of the woods. I hate trekking from store to store and dealing with crowds. This would've been a more pleasant shopping experience.

  17. Ooh Avril - I went to a Boden party last week too ;-) 'Tis obviously the season!
It was great for finding things that hadn't caught my eye in the catalogue, but looked great 'in person'... (and the opposite too - there were a few things that I thought I really wanted, but the moment I saw them it was 'No way!').
I'd planned to try on lots of trousers and jeans, but the party I went to had assigned a single communal changing room, and I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
Oh, and there was no full length mirror anywhere. Tip - when you hold your party, you definitely need some full length mirrors in the house!
