House of Fraser SS13 Preview

It was a snowy day today but how lovely to get indoors away from the snow and ice (nearly landing on my behind in heels in the process but we'll skim over that for now..) and see the gorgeous spring/summer lines that will launch in House of Fraser from March this year. A wonderful mix of florals, embellished collars and neon greeted us in the Ivory Restaurant making summer seem within touching distance
Pied a Terre
Prints & stripes from Dickens & Jones
Embellishment done the Biba way
 Biba prints
Loving the Mary Portas scarf print top
Today was also the first chance for bloggers and the press to see a new collection from the latest designer to arrive in House of Fraser. Kilian Kerner is a German designer who features regularly at the Mercedes-Benz Berlin Fashion Week. He has developed an affordable, yet unique range for House of Fraser, which will suit all ages. Loved this print in particular as it's a really wearable print in soft muted colours. There were several styles in this print and prices start around £80:
The full Kilian Kerner range will be stocked in only 3 stores initially and Belfast's House of Fraser is lucky to be one of these three. It launches at the beginning of March and given Kilian's stunning designs and his celebrity following, is likely to sell out fast.

I also checked out Grainne Maher, from Pluck & Devour's new range. I've featured Grainne on this blog before and 2013 is going to see P&D going global with stockists secured in Europe and the USA. What a wonderful local success story. Make sure you buy one of these beauties now - they are going to be collectors pieces in a few years. You can pick them up in House of Fraser Belfast or on Grainne's website on this link

To top things off nicely, Mark Rogers from Benefit was at the event. I met Mark at Menarys in Lisburn last year and he is just such a joy to talk to. I have honestly never met a happier person in his job. He sent me home with some lovely Benefit goodies that I can't wait to try -
Benefit's Fine One One, sheer brightening colour for lips and cheeks and the Triple Performing Facial Emulsion (SPF 15). And House of Fraser kindly gifted me some bubbles which were gratefully received after my month of abstinence!
What to wear on a snowy day to a fashionable get together like this? Why, some 'fall on your behind' Zara embellished boots (a sneaky end of sale purchase - shush!), a Limited at M&S tweed/pleather dress and a statement necklace. Topped with my Karen Millen mac and a big scarf.
I hope you enjoyed this taste of House of Fraser Spring Summer. The good news is that you're going to see more from House of Fraser on the blog in the coming weeks as I'm working on something lovely to mark their 5 years in Belfast celebrations in March. Keep warm everyone and DON'T wear heels like these in the snow...scary mary sliding moments...I am relieved to have all my limbs intact. Back to flat boots tomorrow :)

  1. You mean you didn't put your crampons on?

Seriously, you look lovely and very polished. Must be fun to do these events ... but also hard work. I'd have to dress up for a start and that's too much like hard work. I like the colours on the Kerner range - perfect transitional piece for now in to spring.

    1. I did try the crampons on the heels but annoyingly they don't work. Some smart alec needs to do special ones for determined high heel wearers! :)

  2. What a lovely, cheery, colourful post. After bright sunshine last weekend, we are also back to sleet, frost and ice. Brrrr. Enough now! Looking forward to Spring and definitely looking forward to checking out the new House of Fraser stock. Don't drink all those bubbles at once Avril .. or you could find yourself slip-sliding again, lol!!

    1. Too funny!! I must have looked like I'd been drinking when I slid on the path. Got such a fright! I'll save the bubbles for when I'm safely at home indoors! Avril x

    1. Thank you! Not a strange request - I do often wonder if I should tag my tights! They are the M&S 100D control tights so they are super sucky-in ones and keep their shape really well. I've had this pair for over a year - chucking them in the washing machine every time I wear and they are in perfect condition! Avril x
