FrOctober Friday #1

For the month of October, I'll be sharing my frock-friendly outfits each Friday - as part of FrOctober, which I told you all about on Tuesday's post. It's all in aid of a great cause so get your legs out and share your pictures!
The first dress I wore this week was my Benetton navy wool one - a late sale bargain from March this year. I only wore it once (here), then it went away in the winter storage bag. I got very excited when I took it out at the weekend!
Wool mix, sleeveless with a kick pleat to the front and fully lined, when I wear this dress with a long sleeved top underneath it's super cosy. I wore it with my Wallis scarf which picks up both the blush colour in my top and the navy of the dress.
Dress - Benetton
Blush Long Sleeved Top - Primark
Blush/Navy Scarf - Wallis
Long Brown Boots - Hobbs (similar)
The best thing about this dress is that it works really well underneath my Merrell - so it's perfect for the school run...
The next dress I wore this week is a cheeky little Dorothy Perkins number:
Dress - Dorothy Perkins (similar here & here)
Long Cardigan - Primark (similar here)
Ankle Boots - Dunnes (similar here)
Now this one is short....way shorter than I would dare wear during the day but in the name of charity, I donned my super thick black tights and ankle boots and braved the school run and do you know what, despite my reservations as evidenced in the next photo where I was heard to say 'omg...look at the state of those legs'...
...I actually enjoyed wearing it. It felt feminine but was very practical to wear, once I worked out that I had to bend my knees rather than bend from the waist :)

Don't forget, my Marks & Spencer competition closes tomorrow night so make sure you've entered before 9pm! Two gorgeous bird-print scarves up for grabs. Click here to enter and I'll announce the winner on Sunday!

  2. Love the dresses.I am a dress woman myself. I love wearing them but last winter I struggled with the length of dresses. I like them to go to the knee or just above, but for some reason all the cute dress were way shorter.
I just wore them with black tights or leggins but I am always afraid I am too old for tow inches over the knees....late 30's bracket...lol
    Am I over thinking it?

    1. Yes!! Just wear the cute dresses...the longer ones tend to be a bit frumpy unless they are fitted like my navy one. I think I've finally reached the age of not caring and I LOVE it! :) x

  9. Avail your legs are fab, keep wearing the little dress. I need a dress like the first one. I bought the Lands End tweedy one you featured a few weeks ago and it is the ultimate teachers dress (versatile colour, pockets for pens etc, slight stretch, not too short and versatile as you showed). I'd love another one.....but where?
