My trip to Cornwall introduced me to a clothing brand that I'd not heard of before - Seasalt. Just before we travelled over, I saw a tweet that led me to the Seasalt website and soon I was calculating where my closest branch was - Fowey - a gorgeous Cornish village, 30 minutes drive from where we were staying.
They have these long jersey scarves in a few different colour ways. Perfect for brightening up a plain top and jeans, they are reduced in the sale at the moment to just £8. Click here to buy!
More stripes in this top - a lovely combination of teal/turquoise and yellow. Nice change from the usual blue/white stripes and looked great with white trousers. This top is also in the sale at the moment in a few different colour ways, reduced to £15.
I had a great time admiring and trying on...here are some of my photos:
Loved the jute bags - couldn't resist the People's Republic one! |
Wellies for stripe lovers of all ages |
There were scarves - lots of them! |
This photo is for my sister - saw these socks and thought of you R.. |
I tried on a few items, though having the kids with me curtailed the trying on a bit. Loved the Shoreline Jacket. With a striped lining and cream waterproof outer layer, it's stylish and practical for the school run. And it was reduced to £50 that day but it's not reduced online. There are a few similar jackets in the sale on this link.
I also took a fancy to this patterned Seaside Mac. Loved the blue & coral colours in it. It's sold out online unfortunately. They have these long jersey scarves in a few different colour ways. I bought one item - though I could quite happily have bought more. But the budget was tight so I chose the item I knew I would get lots of wear out of, all year round. My Sennen coral tunic has been worn quite a bit already...most recently on a trip last weekend to Hazlett House, a National Trust property in Castlerock, Co Antrim:
The good news for those of us not lucky enough to live in Cornwall is that Seasalt is stocked in plenty of independent boutiques. In Northern Ireland, you can pick it up in Equus in Moira (I was there last week and they have a great selection with 20% off summer stock) and in the Republic, it's available in Padmore & Barnes factory shop in Kilkenny. Leave a comment if you know of a good stockist near you.
I'll leave you with a photo I found when downloading my Seasalt pictures. It was taken in the town of Fowey just after I'd been clothes shopping. A lovely memory of a beautiful little town..

I am lucky enough to have a large Seasalt store in the city near where I live ! I have kept away for the past few months as I have been trying not to spend money on clothes...such lovely colours always! Enjoy your new discovery and purchase. X
ReplyDeleteI came across this brand last year when I went to Mumbles in swansea where my sister in law lives. We will be going back there on Friday. I regret not buying one of the Jute bags so will have to make up for it this year.
ReplyDeleteKids SeaSalt is available in Ginger Jays in Saintfield, not sure if they stock stock the adult range but they do have some fab clothes in at the minute!
ReplyDeleteThanks Bex...I've never heard of it - must check it out next time we're down there, Avril x

Such lovely stuff. They had a good selection in Moore's of Coleraine and some in White House Portrush. I got a tunic that I spied on a lady at the Giant's Causeway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for that - really helpful. Can't believe I was in Moores in Coleraine last week and didn't go upstairs! That'll teach me..Avril x

Thank you Leslie! I hope you enjoy looking over their website, Avril x
DeleteI am lucky enough to live in Cornwall and have a branch about 3 minutes from where I work, which can be a little too handy! If you like FatFace, White Stuff or the more casual ranges at Boden and Joules I'm sure you'd love Seasalt. It's a fab brand and I am delighted its appeal is widening all the time :)
ReplyDeleteHope you had a lovely holiday in Cornwall too!

Thanks Kathy - we had a great time! How lucky for you to live there...it's a beautiful part of the country and you have a Seasalt right beside you too - what more could a girl ask for?! Avril x
Deletelove for tunic, how cool is the patterned rain jacket....l can see myself having fun in the rain wearing this :)
ReplyDeleteLove the seasalt brand and I will be checking out the website. I've been following your blog a while and LOVE your style and choices. I live in Norway and either shop online or have my mum pick things up for me in the UK. If you mention a new brand and have a chance to try something on, would it be possible to mention how the size runs. IE runs bigger than New Look or M&S. I know nothing is perfect, but would really help:) Thanks and looking for your Autumn tips.
ReplyDeleteThanks for this really useful comment. I've replied to you on your own blog to ensure you see the reply. Sorry for the delay in coming back to you here. I'll bear that in mind for next time and for information, Seasalt does come up a bit big - the 10's were all big on me and the stripy top in a 12 was waaay too big. I would say a little bigger than M&S (which I do find runs big too). Loved your blog - you have gorgeous wee boys! Avril x
DeleteI love the jute bags and the white coat/jacket. Do love the shot of the kids - really nice.
