Seek out your local second hand shop. The very talented Ciara over at Smudge Illustration told me about Rich Rags on Bloomfield Road, Belfast.
It's a mixture of second hand good quality clothing and end of line/sale items that are new with tags. There is a sale on at the moment and on the £9 sale rail, I picked up a brand new with tags LK Bennett Viola dress - just like the one in the picture. RRP £115. I love a bargain!
And this brand new Boden Tunic was on the £9 rail too!
Another frugal fashion tip is to find a charity shop close to an upmarket area and go for a nosey! Yesterday, I did just that and found Vivienne Westwood, MaxMara, Boden and Hobbs on the rails. There were even a number of items with labels still attached. I made one purchase, this new navy Miss Selfridge sequin top which I wore today under a Navy cardigan. All it cost was a £4.50 donation to a great charity...it's a win-win!
Next Friday, I'll share with you some of my eBay bargains. See you tomorrow when I'll be wrapping up well for the cold weekend. Have a great weekend :)
loving the frugal friday tips.
ReplyDeleteBut have searched in the more affluent areas of Belfast and closer to where I like and have found no such treasures. Am very jealous
I'm sorry you haven't come across any bargains. I went to the same shop this morning and found nothing. Some days must be better than others. It's the Cancer Research shop on the Lisburn Road btw x
DeleteMy daughter bought a gorgeous nearly new evening dress at Deja Vue, (lisburn Road), for her school formal, a snip at £60. Well compared to paying upto £300 for school prom dresses, £60 sounded like music to my ears! I think there's something similar in Moira aswell. A list of alternative shops like these would be a great idea Avril. Just a shame Boden don't do their sale shops here. Boden people take a hint...
ReplyDeleteThanks for that Suzie, it's a great idea. I know the girl who owns DeJa Vue too! So glad you got sorted with a dress so reasonably, You'll have to send me a picture! Ax
