Tassel Boot Obsession

For the past few weeks, I keep seeing, trying on and thinking about high heeled tassel boots. Deep, I know but I promise I've been thinking about other more important things at the same time. But then I get sidelined by images like this on Instagram.....
and suddenly, I *need* a pair in my life. My hesitation (apart from the heel height!) include...will I look and sound ridiculous as I strut about in them? Will people hear me before they see me as my tassels dance about with every step? Will they knot up in each other and make me trip? (has happened to me before with some laced heels - in a crowded pub....mortified)

Before I ponder these shoe issues, here are some of the tasselled lovelies that are teasing me, starting with the ones that are in the picture above - from Daniel Footwear.

Daniel Positive Black Suede Fringed Boots (10% extra off with SALE10)
Daniel also have these more sensible ones and the fringe is detachable!!
Daniel Desirable Black Suede Detachable Fringe Boots

But there's just something about the high ones. And here's the gripe with Daniel - their delivery is £5.50 in Northern Ireland....compared to £3.99 for the rest of the UK (or free for orders over £120 - only on the mainland UK). I'm pretty sure there isn't another retailer of this size that has such a poor grasp of geography and/or a poorly negotiated courier contract. Sort it out guys!

Moving onto Topshop (free delivery in NI over £50) where these beauties have been calling to me since the sale began. Sadly, not in my size but that dipped front is so flattering!
Huskie Fringe Pointed Boots - £45

ASOS (free delivery in NI) have a few contenders...the heels on these ones are a bit chunkier, so easier to wear possibly
ASOS Evette Suede Ankle Boots - £55

These are also a great option from ASOS as there's not quite as much fringing as the others I've featured so far. Beautiful shape on the foot but they are SO high!!
Lost Ink Fringed Heeled Boot - £50

Great sale bargain here from Net a Porter (£5 delivery which is pricy but it's the same for all of the UK). These have a great heel and not too much fringing:
Sam Edelman Kandice Boots - £78 (from £155)

Aldo have these beauties at half price (free delivery over £50)
Aldo Cirede Boots - £55 (from £110)

But then right at the end of my search, I find these beauties from M&S (free delivery all over the UK for orders over £50). Perfect height, not too much fringing, nice dip at the front and real leather!
Suede Trim Ankle Boots with Insolia - £69

Love them...but the 'I'm not 40 yet' person inside me wants the Topshop ones! I saw how poorly M&S did at Christmas for non-food sales and I thought about why I don't shop there (for non-food) and I confess it's because I associate it with being middle aged. Anyone else feel the same? They're great for all the basics, don't get me wrong but I don't find myself in there as much anymore for fashion as I'm more likely to bump into someone's granny than find something cutting edge. But having said all that those boots are corkers and reading the reviews just convinces me of them even more. Anyone know when there's a 20% off coming up?

That's this week lust item.....has blogging about it stopped the obsession? No - it's merely made me want to phone Topshop in Reading tomorrow morning to ask if they'll post the size 39 they have in stock over to me :)

  1. I love this fringed style of boots Avril....though I would be plumping for a lower heeled pair! I've fancied a taupe pair every since I saw Natalie in hers when we met up last Feb! Instagram has a lot to answer for.....I often see things and end up trawling the net for hours until I find something similar! xx

    1. I know - Instagram is dangerous Michelle! You've got me thinking now that a taupe pair would be more useful for spring/summer...aarggh! x

  2. You're so right ... I never think to look in M&S for clothes. I go to their Beauty Hall, the Food Hall and occasionally the shoe dept, but that's it. Those fringed boots are really gorgeous, but if your heart is set on Topshop (and I can see why - beautiful) then I think you need to make that phone call!

    1. It is set on the Topshop ones but sadly, Reading don't have my size...despite showing as being in stock. Oh well...maybe not meant to be? Will be keeping an eye on eBay :) x

  3. They're all lovely but I think it's the m&s ones or the chunky asos ones for me depending on whether you want dressier or day to day. Good luck!

    1. Yes...the chunkier ones are definitely going to be more wearable. I'm still mulling over...Ax

  4. Agree re M&S but read about those boots in the tan being compared to a much pricier pair and was tempted myself. I love a bit of fringing and have been seriously coveting a Sam Edelman pair this week. x

    1. The Sam Edelman ones are fab aren't they? So unsure after trying the M&S ones yesterday...maybe I'll hold off to get the Topshops ones on eBay or the Daniel ones if they're reduced further! x

  5. I think from memory you're a size 7? If so these might be a cheaper way to try the trend.

    1. Rachel - thanks so much. I went to my local New Look today to see if I could try them in person. The 7 is probably going to be a bit big but I'm tempted to order just to try them out as it's free delivery & returns...Thanks again! x

  11. Maybe its a sign of me being past the 40 milestone but I still have a soft spot for St Michael - under a load of rubbish there are the occasional gems that look amazing and look way more expensive than they are. I too have spotted their tasselled suede boots, although I'd probably go for the tan. M&S 20% discounts are all totally random. They occasionally offer a discount for Sparks card holder so its worth getting one of those.
