It's been done to death but I do love a good capsule wardrobe post and I border on the obsessive now when I travel in that I keep whipping things out to see just how little I can travel with.
To make it simple, I decide on a black or navy base colour and build everything else around that, with one key accessory to keep the colour palate simple. That accessory this time was this scarf that I've got in my new AW range (in the shop in a few weeks). It says it all about the current weather that I'm wearing it now in July...but let's not go there.

So navy it was this time with shades of green/cream and tan. Here I am en-route on Tuesday, which was a lovely day:
Top - F&F at Tesco
Jeans - Gap
Necklace (£10) & Scarf (£13) - AW stock in the shop ... email to reserve.
Wednesday was the best day of the week and as I sit here on a rainy Saturday evening, it feels like it was the last day of summer. I have just recently embraced the midi skirt in the form of this beauty from Tesco. Total bargain in the sale at £4.
Skirt - F&F at Tesco
Top - Joules (past season)
Denim Jacket - Vero Moda (via eBay)
Scarf/Bag/Necklace - as before
Thursday was ok to start with so we squeezed in a trip to King John's Castle in Limerick before the rain started in the afternoon. A great day out for the family - highly recommend if you're in the area.
Rainy Day Mac - Boden (past season - new colours on sale here)
Jeans - Vero Moda (preloved)
Trainers - Onitsuka Tigers (past season)
Necklace/Bag - as before
It bucketed on Thursday afternoon so you'll never guess where we ended up? The outdoor pool in Ballina, Co Tipperary. No better place to be when it's chucking it down...the kids had a ball and I did too, helped by the fact that we had the place to ourselves.
Friday it was back on the road again to Belfast but we did stop off at Kildare Village for school shoes & trainers for my son. I was determined not to buy anything myself so instead, I bought a little something to give away on here. I'll post details in the next week. No proper photos of me but here's one of me admiring handbags...I think this one is Anya Hindmarch:
Top - New Look
Scarf/Bag/Necklace - as before
Back home now with lots of jewellery orders to post out and some great blog posts to come this week, including one featuring a great new Irish made tan AND my pick of the sales...I've been busy buying, trying on and sending back and there are photos of it all!
Hope you're having a lovely weekend,
Ax
Just returned from cool, dampish week in Northern Ireland. I'm impressed by you swimming in the rain. Was the pool heated? I didn't even dip a toe in the water at Portrush though the small nieces nephews did. No need for summer clothes I took with me - wore jeans and hoodie all week! Loving the scarf - looks like an autumn wardrobe buy for me.
ReplyDeleteYou definitely have your capsule wardrobe packing off pat. I try to keep to as little as possible when I'm going anywhere and so far, it's been manageable. I find that you always tend to stick with what you are most comfortable in anyway. Or is that me and old age?
ReplyDeleteAnd that pool - I can't swim and I don't like going swimming with the kids but I have to say, that looks like fun.
