Press Days & Capsule Wardrobes

It's been a busy half term week over in England and despite what I said on Monday, I did sneak some blogging time to myself on Wednesday, with a trip to London for some press days. I always have to decline these events but decided to squeeze a couple into a day-trip to the capital.
This caused some issues for my capsule wardrobe so I had to wear the same thing two days running (albeit laundered overnight). Fashion disaster for some but I don't mind - if I like an outfit I'm happy to wear two days in a row.
So on that note, here's what I wore on Tuesday and Wednesday..the first photo is taken at Hatchlands Park - a gorgeous National Trust property near Guildford. The kids had so much fun doing Halloween crafts and trails around the garden.
Coat - Matalan (back in stock in some sizes)
Jeans - Maison Scotch @ Feather & Stitch
Boots - Seven Boot Lane
Pink Marl Top - Primark
Black Leather Handbag - Fossil @ Menarys
and here I am the next day with my blogging friend Natalie from Glam Rosie, at one of the press days on Wednesday in London:
Same outfit - different boots (Clarks ones)
Today, it was another variation on the capsule theme...

Same boots & coat
Scarf - Next (AW12)
Skinny Utility Trouser - UNIQLO (tempted by the brown...)
Cream Jersey Top - UNIQLO (just seen)
Spot the additions? Can you guess who visited UNIQLO on her trip to London? These grey utility style skinny trousers are in the sale and are the most gorgeous fit. I got them in a 10 and I'd say that they're generous as I'm normally closer to a 12 in trousers.
Unfortunately, the Orla Kiely HeatTech tops weren't available in-store until yesterday (Thursday) so I couldn't check them out but there are 2 of them winging their way to me in the post so watch this space!

Want to know what else is in this week's tiny suitcase? My Boden Off-Duty Merino Jumper, Tesco Indigo Skinny Jeans and three scarves. I have never travelled with such a small amount of clothes and even at that, I could have managed with one pair of boots.
For a week, I think that's pretty good - though it doesn't make for a very interesting week of outfit posts...

Just a reminder before I go about my Kaleidoscope competition - please check out the finalists and place your vote before voting closes on Saturday at midnight. I'll officially announce the winner on Sunday. You can email your vote or vote on the Facebook page too - I've had quite a few votes via these other channels so it's all to play for!

Also, a further reminder for anyone ordering from the shop. All orders will be dispatched early next week. Thank you for your patience and if you're thinking of ordering, UK postage is free until Monday!

    1. Thanks Kat - you'd love the UNIQLO trousers as they're so long! I need about 3 inches off them...and they are such a soft stretchy material. Lovely quality. x

  4. I need lessons in capsule packing from you!! You have managed some great outfits on just a few pieces! The Matalan coat is gorgeous, I love it with the blue scarf but it goes so well with the printed Maison Scotch trews too! Looks like you have had a really fun, busy week! x

    1. Thank you Michelle - I used to be useless at capsule packing but I've gotten better as time's gone on. It helps that we have the use of a washing machine where we're staying! x

  6. Total respect - light packing is something I find very difficult. I have been known to take out some of my sons clothes from his case and replace with my own. I mean how low can one go?? And I'm not even ashamed. Love your Uniqlo purchases - not really a brand I'm familiar with so I will be taking a look tonight.

    1. Thanks Donna - UNIQLO is fab for colour actually so you'll love it. They have great denim too - lovely quality. And haha at replacing your son's clothing...if he's anything like my son, he'll not have minded! xx

  7. Can you tell me what size you buy in the orla keily tops - I don't understand how they come up... I'm a 10 xx

    1. Joanne, I think it varies a little. I got the cream top I've on above (which you can't really see unfortunately) in a L as I wanted it loose fitting over skinnies. I've bought HeatTech in S before but I wear them like underwear so I'm ok with them being tight on. For the OK stuff I ordered, I asked for a M. I think it's going to be my size and I'm a 10 on top but I hate anything to clingy over my tummy. Not sure if this helps at all - I'd probably go for a M if you want to wear a little loose. x
