Gok for TU at Sainsburys - 10th Collection for Winter 2013

I have a love hate relationship with Gok's range for Tu at Sainsburys. I didn't like his last two collections but loved the previous two. Being honest, I can't remember the other 6....yes, this is Gok's 10th collection for Tu over a period of 2 years!
I'm liking this 10th collection much more as it's back to what Gok does well - the 1950's curvy look. Not very School Gate Style but great for Christmas parties. I saw this next dress modelled at the Sainsbury press launch for the collection this week and it's really beautiful in real life - very flattering:
I'm also pleased to see there are some casual pieces in the collection, including jeans (tho worryingly a bit bootcut looking!) & jeggings - something he's done well before.
The colour palate is great - I'm a big fan of greys and purples. Particularly liking the poncho style jumper on the bottom right which is priced at £28.
There are some flattering blouses and tops - which can be dressed up or down.
But a look book is not enough for me - I need to try it on! I'll do my best to get in to my local store to try on some of my favourite pieces for you over the weekend. Watch this space. But if there's something here that catches your eye, the collection launches tomorrow in-store only. I was told at our launch that an online offering from Tu Clothing is not on the cards in the near future.

So what do you think? Do let me know if you get a chance to check it out in-store yourself this weekend!

  1. His clothes are definitely designed for a womanly hourglass - very flattering. Notice he tweeted a gorgeous pair of two-tone black leggings and white/cream top earlier on. I admire his collection but not for me. I think Sainsburys are missing a trick not selling online - why would you not these days? Donna x

  5. I actually tried to comment earlier when I was on my phone but I'm glad in a sense I didn't. Some of the detail and colour got lost in translation but now on the laptop I can see the detailing and some of the pieces are lovely but dare I say it? It's all a bit conservative? Where is the statement red lace dress or the stand out piece. I like it ok but think I expected a bit more.... I do like that purple dress at the top though and think it would look stunning on you Avril x
