Fessing up time - between back to school and digging my ankle boots out of storage, I almost forgot about this one! So the moment has perhaps passed? Sorry if it has - I'm sharing anyway.
The last weekend in August saw myself and about 16 other girls meet up just outside Portrush on the North Antrim coast for my friend Catherine's hen (bachelorette for my US readers) party. Actually, foremost in my mind right now is what on earth I'm going to wear to the wedding on the 27th September....eek!
But back to the hen. We stayed at the McShane houses in Ballintoy (highly recommend!). These houses are right by the sea - check out the view from our living room!
Val, the amazing bridesmaid had already stocked the fridge for the first afternoon and so once we'd all nabbed a room, the celebrations commenced
I wore my cream TK Maxx jersey top, Zara coated dark green jeans, Clarks sandals and a Cos necklace en route to the weekend. A very long en-route I might add...I am not good with country roads. The best photo of this outfit is this next one of me taking a picture of our hen goodie bags...too busy talking all afternoon
Then we got all glammed up and headed out to Jackman & Pye in Portrush for an amazing meal and onto The Harbour Bar for some live music wearing a neon yellow top from Linea at House of Fraser, Black skinnies from Primark, Black sandals from Zara and cropped black jacket from Dunnes. Glo sticks supplied by the chief bridesmaid!
Love this photo of the beautiful bride, Catherine with Helen, her aunt. We all had such a great night:
Next day, DVDs with a cooked breakfast and cups of tea were the order of the day..
and then it was time to get glammed up again and head to the Red Door in Ballintoy for an al fresco meal and a group shot (finally). Some of the hens were unable to stay for this so it's a reduced group but don't we look well?
For this meal, I wore my trusty Maison Scotch jeans, Oasis lace top, M&S leopard shoes and the same black jacket as the night before
Then it was back to the house for more chat, more bubbles and another late night...phew! And for that reason, you're not getting a photo of me the next day. Instead, I'll leave you with the view from my bedroom - far more pleasant..
Thanks to Catherine for inviting me along, to the other hens for making it a weekend to remember and as for Val, the brilliant chief bridesmaid - if I ever get married again, she's my woman! Next time you see these gorgeous girls will be on my blog about the wedding!
