Fabulously tidy...for about a week...at most |
So, here are the shoes that made me tidy my wardrobe...no mean
Office Buckle Black Leather Shoe |
Firstly, they are comfy...I don't have many flat shoes for wearing at this time of the year so I'm loving that about them.
Secondly, they are a bit mad...and not perhaps entirely appropriate for an almost 40 year old mum and I LOVE that about them too. Mid life crisis perhaps? But if cool shoes are the bearers of mid life crises, then bring it on!
Haven't done mirror photos for a while but as today I'm feeling a grotty thanks to all the germs the kids have brought home this week, and I'm greyer than your granny, a wee mirror shot will do nicely thanks!
Jeans - H&M Long black jumper - Warehouse Scarf - Hobbs |
A looky-down shot! |
A note on sizing for anyone else interested, they are on the small side so size up. Mine are a 7 and I'm normally a 6.5.
Love these Avril, actually looked at them myself in HOF on Monday but decided I had bought enough shoes this weekend. they will be great for Christams when you wnat to be dressed up but comfy too. Bring on the midlife crisis if there are more like these!
ReplyDeleteThanks Trea…we seem to have similar taste in shoes - I'm still thinking about those navy ones you got last week! Ax
DeleteMid life crisis pah! Now .. are you available to offer wardrobe sorting services to the rest of us, lol! That is a seriously impressive job
ReplyDeleteAw..thanks. I'm pretty good at it even though I hate spending the time on it. Under it all, I've some suppresses OCD going on I think! Maybe that should be my new career - wardrobe sorting :) Ax
DeleteYay! now I can have a photo of you in yours for my post! The more I look at them, the more I want them but fear the kids might take the mick!
ReplyDeleteAww, they're just afraid their stylish mama will look better in them than they do! Looking forward to seeing your post, Avx
DeleteThese look fab on you Avril, love them! Would have ordered the leopard/gold colourway in a heartbeat if they'd had them in my size, boo!
ReplyDeleteNic x
Thanks Nic…I could totally see them on you too. Maybe in-store in HOF? Ax
DeleteI bought them too! Normally a 5/6 but the 5's were really tight. Tried them with boot cut jeans- not that great, but they look fab with skinnies!
ReplyDeleteYay - so glad you like them too. Glad you've done the work and tried them with boot cuts - I'm guessing the pointy toe out the front is probably a bit strange looking under them! Ax
DeleteOOOh they are lovely - studs!! What's not to like?! Helen xx
ReplyDeleteI know - my first properly studded item. I'm a bit slow to the trend but I get there in the end! Ax
DeleteFabulous and a tad cheaper than the Chloe boots no doubt?:) xx
ReplyDeleteJust a few pounds Joanna! Ax
DeleteThey look gorgeous, you should wear them as often as poss in my opinion! Forget the mid life crisis at your age, Im still having one at 62 and just love clothes, shoes as much or possibly even more than when I was 17! Just discovered your blog and love it.
ReplyDeleteAw, thank you! I think the age lines have blurred so much and I very much hope to be shoe and clothes obsessed in my 60's too! Bring it on :) So glad you're enjoying the blog, Avril x
DeleteYou see, you can make them look gorgeous - I would look vile in them!
ReplyDeleteVery jealous!
Fiona
PS how long will your wardrobe stay looking so neat?!!
Thank you Fiona - and I actually think you could do it as you're tall but I know they are not to everyone's taste. And on the wardrobe - I'll give it till about Sunday?! Ax
DeleteEmmmm...ahhhhh....mmmmmm....lovely but I would not be so brave...Great job on wardrobe!!

Thanks mrs! Not to everyone's taste I know - I'm actually surprised that so many people liked them on here! Ax
DeleteIf that's a mid life crisis - bring it on! I'm sort of divided on them - I've seen good versions and not so good but yours look really nice - nice enough for me to go and have a wander through to the Office site and start noseying. How about a post on what to style them with - five outfits with those boots? Just to shake it up a bit - want to see you rock out!
ReplyDeleteForgot to say - I can see white space in your wardrobe! What's that all about! It should be groaning with clothes!
DeleteNo pressure or anything? Five outfits lol…
DeleteWill give it a go…not promising anything tho :) Axx
PS and the white space is for the Christmas clothes haul :)
Looking fabulous, I really need to get some guts to wear some more interesting shoes and clothes! Mich x
ReplyDeleteThanks Michelle for your lovely comment - sounds like you've lots more important things on your mind right now. Good luck on your trip to Belarus, Avx
DeleteLoving those shoes. Jealous!
ReplyDeleteThanks Iva…you would totally rock them! Could post to Canada for you? Ax
DeleteYodel! They're a swear word in my vocabulary. I was shocked when they delivered ONE package successfully a few weeks ago. That was after a couple of years of dealing with missing packages. Those boots are WICKED! They're just like the Chloe Susanna ones but without the massive price tag.
ReplyDeleteLol - Yodel has a bad reputation. They should employ the nice guy on Twitter in a different part of the business to stop the problems in the first place! Glad you like my boots - all chuffed that you do, you cool blogger you! Ax
Deletevery very cute shoes! Love the details!
ReplyDeleteSmile On:)...Classy Pam

Thanks Pam - great to find your blog too. In love with your arm candy girl! Ax
DeleteThey look wonderful and I would never have guessed you were near 40!
ReplyDeleteClaire, you are saying all the right things…keep saying them! lol Ax
DeleteAt least it means another order for a 40th cake next June - every cloud and all that ;)
DeleteSo glad you love them, too! Wore them yesterday and got lots of compliments! Wore them with a Margaret Howell shirt, pinafore dress and thick Falke tights- toughened the otherwise 'prim' look up! Thanks for mentioning my blog, Avril, Alex x
ReplyDeleteSounds fab Alex…you've inspired me as have a wool pinafore that I think they will work well with too. Thanks for dropping by and for the initial inspiration for the post! Ax
DeleteI don't get rid of the wedges sneakers, especially if they are still in a good condition.
